Ben Gettinger is a seasoned yogi and Zen practitioner, who has traveled deep into the mountains of India and Korea to pursue his spiritual endeavors. He is a Dharma Teacher in the Kwan Um School of Zen, the former Director of Dharma Zen Center in Los Angeles, and has sat numerous long retreats including one lasting 90 days at a mountain temple in Korea. Ben was inspired to pursue yoga to compliment his intense meditation practice for the support, strength, determination, and flexibility Asana provides. Soon this practice became a necessity he could not live without. In addition to completing yoga teacher training at Liberation Yoga in 2012, he completed an in-depth intensive training in India with Rolf Naujokat - one of the world’s leading teachers of Ashtanga Yoga. By combining his yoga and meditation training, Ben presents an original flow class that challenges the practitioner to explore yoga postures and their deep effect on the mind and body. You will leave his class feeling restored and full of vitality as you return to that wild rollercoaster known as life!
You don't have to come to Ben to get your yoga on, because he can come to you! Deepen your practice with a private session. Ben will work with you one-on-one to improve your execution of the yoga postures while simultaneously enriching your life on levels both mental and spiritual.

Another great passion and practice of Ben's that he loves sharing with his yoga students is surfing. Every second and fourth Sunday of the month in Manhattan Beach Ben holds a yoga-surf session. Yoga class is held right on the beach! The crash of the waves serves as the playlist and the ocean breeze cools you down in savasana. Afterwards everyone goes out to hit the waves! All levels of surfers and yogis are welcome to attend. Boards and surfing basics are provided for beginners. These surf events are all donation based. Check out Ben's social media feeds for updates.
There are no scheduled retreats for the moment, but keep posted. Ben is working on something amazing for the fall of 2017!
